At some point before she visited San Francisco on 31 December 1999, Iris Wildthyme was in the city trying to find two humpback whales which she transported to the future in order to save Earth. (AUDIO: The Panda Invasion)
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The reference to humpback whales in The Panda Invasion is a clear allusion to the events of the film Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, where the former crew of the USS Enterprise, including Captain James T. Kirk, Spock, Leonard McCoy, Montgomery Scott and Sulu, use a commandeered Klingon Bird-of-Prey to time travel and acquire a pair of humpback whales from San Francisco in 1987 to save Earth in the late 23rd century.
