Brian Hodgson (born June 1938[1]) provided the special sounds, or sound effects, for Doctor Who beginning with An Unearthly Child and ending with The Sea Devils, after which he was succeeded by Dick Mills, although he did return to work on Carnival of Monsters. He is credited with creating the distinctive sound of the TARDIS dematerialising, which has been used throughout the Doctor Who television series.

He also contributed to the DVD commentary for The Krotons, as well as contributing to several Doctor Who documentaries released on DVD and Blu-ray.
