Carla worked as a foster mother, having adopted thirty three children by 2023 at some point or another. According to Ruby, she still kept in touch with them, though only Ruby remained with them into adulthood, living with Carla in a flat in 3 Minto Road.
On Christmas Eve, Carla fosters another baby named Lulubelle. Carla leaves Lulu in Ruby's care as she leaves to the store. Upon returning, she sees Ruby has invited a Doctor around to check on Lulubelle.
