Axton was a Time Lord soldier present at the Fall of Gallifrey.
Biography
As the Daleks invaded his home planet of Gallifrey in the final days of the Last Great Time War, Axton was instructed by the Doctor, who was waging war upon the Daleks somewhere in the the Citadel, to present Commander Leela with a wayfinder to allow her to escape the Time War, though she refused to use it. While he was encouraging her to flee, Axton was shot and killed by a Dalek. Leela then claimed the wayfinder, allowing her to escape and be reunited with the Fourth Doctor.
