Something is killing influencers and Torchwood have to save them. Mr Colchester discovers a whole new world and he doesn't like it one bit. Don't forget to like and subscribe.

Plot

Torchwood investigate influencers, with Ng assigning Tyler to Chris and Mr Colchester to Flavella whilst she and Orr break into Octavia's flat. They find that her live stream is continuing despite her being in an advanced stage of decomposition and that there is nothing unusual about her mobile phone aside from it somehow retaining charge. Another influencer, Katie Dazzle, has been posting for three months since her death thanks to People Fluid, an app which her sister is unable to stop.

Tyler begins a sexual relationship with Chris and learns that People Fluid is a social media aggregator which plans his life around posting content, but he storms out when Chris tries to arrange a time for them to record for his After Dark. He sends a clone of Chris's feed to Ng and Orr and explains how his phone is charged by his natural electrical field, which could be responsible for the influencers' deaths.

Mr Colchester shoots Flavella's phone and explains how influencers have been dying of aneurysms, but guards from People Fluid provide her with a new phone and threaten him by repeatedly dunking his head in a swimming pool. She and Chris are both inundated with bad news on their timelines after turning down several sponsorships, which Mr Colchester believes has made Flavella a liability to People Fluid. She dies. Chris, however, is distracted from his grief over dying cancer patients by Tyler initiating sex and Ng and Orr discover that the employees of People Fluid are themselves deepfakes.

When Chris forgets to set People Fluid to automatically post for him, guards hack his phone and Tyler takes him out to spend the day without social media. He falls in love with who Chris is without his phone and refuses to get him back on People Fluid so that Torchwood can investigate it, even when Ng cuts him off from Torchwood money to make him go along with it. Ng sends Chris a new phone and he returns to using People Fluid, whom he believes sent him the phone, despite Tyler's protests.

Ng and Orr observe how stressed Chris is becoming as the app prepares to kill him and try to tell Tyler to save him by stopping his images from loading, but Tyler ignores his phone and encourages Chris to use his phone to see if it will make him happy. By the time Ng and Orr get to the flat, Chris has been killed and he tells Tyler over Bluetooth speakers that he is his Friend. Mr Colchester uploads a video of Chris blaming People Fluid for his death and encouraging people to leave a one star review, which will prevent the app being rolled out worldwide.

Mr Colchester apologises to Tyler for Chris's death and offers him the simulation of Chris, which he declines. He keeps the last photograph that Chris took of the two of them and Mr Colchester suggests that he frame it to remember him.
