Sergeant Ambika Desai worked for the West Yorkshire Police in Halifax, Yorkshire during the 21st century. She was a companion of the Ninth Doctor.
Biography
Ambika stated that Halifax had "always been home to her." Prior to meeting the Doctor, she had a supervisor who reminded her of the Doctor when he lied to Frank Kelsey to make him more courageous.
Her mother was implied to be supportive of Ambika's career in the police and would be ashamed if she knew Ambika was trespassing in her uniform.
Personality
Ambika was strong-willed and often sarcastic, although she was willing to lend a hand to the Doctor and Greyson without much fuss. She greatly enjoyed her job as a police sergeant.
