Merger

Should this page not be merged with Astrolabus? DiSoRiEnTeD1 02:55, July 7, 2020 (UTC)

No, any more than The War King with The Master — or indeed Great House with Time Lord. --Scrooge MacDuck 03:02, July 7, 2020 (UTC)
shouldn't that be the case for Kelsey Hooper too then? DiSoRiEnTeD1 03:06, July 7, 2020 (UTC)
I dunno. The merge was performed a long time ago, and I presume there was a good reason at the time.
Notice that "Homeworld" and "Gallifrey" were merged too. I suppose there might be something to the idea that when the FP version has changed in-universe, it's more likely to always be covered on its own page even after the hints pile up, whereas if hints pile up as evidence of "it's literally the same thing", we sometimes do perform a merge. But that's just my own speculation.--Scrooge MacDuck 03:11, July 7, 2020 (UTC)
i dunno, if that were the case then Auteur and Astrolabus would be merged (as most of Auteur's page contains pictures and information regarding to Astroalabus' appearances). i doubt FP had any rights to use Kelsey, which is why they needed to go with "Ceol" that is derived from Kelsey. DiSoRiEnTeD1 03:17, July 7, 2020 (UTC)
Not necessarily. They routinely have characters go by alternate names even when they have the right to them. Christine Summerfield/Cousin Eliza comes to mind.
I think the bits of Auteur which describe Astrolabus could definitely be trimmed, though. I think the in-universe evidence is sufficient to mention Auteur's life as Astrolabus on this one in the in-universe sections, but you're right that there's too much of it as it stands. But the answer, to me, is to better separate the two pages, not to merge them. --Scrooge MacDuck 03:21, July 7, 2020 (UTC)
i think if there is no solid confirmation that FP had the rights to use Kelsey Hooper then the pages should definetly be split between Kelsey and Ceol. DiSoRiEnTeD1 03:25, July 7, 2020 (UTC)

This just in "the homeworld" isn't the same as "Gallifrey" because they couldn't get the rights to mention the name of the latter. Najawin 03:31, July 7, 2020 (UTC)

In light of the closure of Thread:279761, I have implemented a trimming-down of the Astrolabus information on this page, reducing it to a two-line mention and a lengthier BTS note. Is this agreeable? --Scrooge MacDuck 11:33, September 12, 2020 (UTC)
We really need to get a universal policy on these sorts of things eventually, as this is wildly inconsistent. But the page itself looks fine I think? I've only read A Bloody (And Public) Domaine (short story), so I don't know if more should be added or even if the copyright was somehow obtained. But given what I know the formatting is fine.
