Travels of the Tardis was a board game set in the DWU, printed in The Dr Who Annual 1968. The premise of the game, which was essentially a modified form of snakes and ladders, was that the players were travelling around universe in their own Tardis, trying to reach Trafalgar Square in 1967.

Publisher's summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

Imagine having a Tardis of your own, so that you could travel to all parts of the universe at any time you pleased. Play this game for 2,3 or 4 players and find yourself visiting strange planets and meeting all kinds of weird monsters.

Players must shake a six to begin their journey. A six put you on the first square. A player landing on a square or planet already occupied by another player must retreat to his last position.

Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]

Planets[[edit] | [edit source]]

The planets and locations which can be visited include the following:

Life[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • On Venus are green-scaled men.
  • On Pluto is a man-eating plant.
  • On Skaro are the "Mechanical Robots".
  • On Laslox are friendly ant-men.

Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • The TARDIS being piloted by the player appears to be in the form of a red police box.
  • The Daleks are depicted but not named.
  • While probably a coincidence, two other planets have since been named Vandor in other Doctor Who media, namely Vandor Prime and Vandor Secunda.
