Bethany Black (born 24 December 1978[1]) played 474 in the Doctor Who television story Sleep No More.

She shared her memories of the story on the 250th and 251st editions of Big Finish's charity podcast series Toby Hadoke's Who's Round.

She was notable for being the first openly transgender actor to appear in Doctor Who.[2] Outside of the DWU, Black was also notable for being the first trans actor to play a trans character in a starring role on British television, as well as the first to do so on US network television, due to her role in Banana.
