Prelude Legacy was, as the name suggested, a prelude to Legacy by Gary Russell. It did not appear in the published novel.

He later runs into Keri, and they have dinner while she tells him about her search for the Ancient Diadem. She invites him to be part of the expedition, but he declines, though he asks her to keep him informed on her team's progress.
