Gallifrey Guardian was a long-running recurring section in Doctor Who Magazine which gave brief coverage of current and upcoming Doctor Who news.

History[[edit] | [edit source]]

The feature was introducted during Paul Neary's editorship of Doctor Who Weekly, first appearing in DWM 28. As the section was finding its identity, fictional content was mixed with the non-fictional in its first few editions -- DWM 28 had Daleks squabble in market, Agriculture, Traffic report, and Weather; DWM 29 had Into the Fifth Dimension; and DWM 30 had Beep the Meep gets 3000 years and another edition of Weather.

A new look for Gallifrey Guardian came in DWM 50 with Alan McKenzie's editorship. Notably, the new header had a small image of the Time Lord city on Gallifrey, with the first appearance of the Capitol Dome. The Guardian next had a new look in DWM 61 which re-used the artwork, but made it smaller. In the next issue, the comic story The Tides of Time showed a version of the Time Lord city resembling this artwork.

DWM 75 replaced the image of the Capitol with a Seal of Rassilon.
