Ray-Bans were a type of sunshades. The Eighth Doctor had a pair of Ray-Bans in his pockets when he began exploring the Divergent Universe with Charlotte Pollard.
He lent them to Charley in the Light City, and found many other objects in his pockets while searching, including a portable radio, a singing top, and a rubber duck. (AUDIO: The Natural History of Fear)
