Dr Yevgeny Kandinsky was a cosmologist from Ukraine. Brought to the Vault in Utah by Henry van Statten to study the "Metaltron", Kandinsky touched the casing and was burnt alive as the Dalek, having mistaken Kandinsky for the Doctor, attempted to harvest him for fuel. (PROSE: Dalek [+]Loading...["Dalek (novelisation)"]) Before his own meeting with the Metaltron, the Ninth Doctor was offered a pair of gloves by Danny Simmons, who noted that "the last guy who touched" it had "burst into flames".
