'''The Union''' was the main alias used by the thirteenth and final [[incarnation]] of the Time Lord known as [[The Multitude|the Multitude]] who suffered from [[regenerative dissonance]].


== Biography ==
The Union was formed after the [[Federation civil war]], and the Union Presidium was located on [[Maradnias]], with senators from the [[Ice Warrior]]s and [[Alpha Centauran]]s. The [[Crystal Bucephalus]] was used as an unofficial parliament for the Union, the [[Lazarus Intent]], and [[the Elective]], with ran all [[brothel]]s, [[drug]] dens, and [[gambling]] establishments in the Union.
Unlike her other incarnations who numbered themselves according to incarnation number, the thirteenth incarnation took on the name “The Union”. The Union created the [[Diamond Array]] as a way to control the dissonance in her mind. She used the calm of her meditation room coupled with the degeneration energy from captured [[Time Lord]]s to control this. She collected degeneration energy from [[the Doctor]], [[the Master]] and [[the Corsair]] and planned to take similar energy from [[the Monk]].  


She captured [[the Two]] to help pilot her ship and control the engines she used to convert star systems into diamonds for her collection. When the Doctor returned to the Diamond Array, he undid her plans with the help of [[River Song]] and [[Susan Foreman]], and her regenerative dissonance returned. [[Diadem]], considered the most relaxing [[planet]] in the galaxy, was mined out by the Union for its [[jethrik]] and [[trisilicate]].

The [[Fifth Doctor]] told [[Sven Tornqvist]] that the Union was due to fall in under 100 years, to be replaced by the [[Junta]], a military dictatorship originating with the Elective, which would, in turn, be replaced after 1000 years by the [[Confederation]]. No longer identifying herself as a number, she now tried to seek  peace above all else, particularly at the expense of her former selves. She developed an obsession with Zen and crystals as symbols of this newfound tranquility. She also lacked a moral compass.


Due to the degeneration energy, it not only suppressed her other personas but also caused them to merge, incorporating aspects and attributes from her predecessors.
