Speed, bonny boat
Like a bird on a wing
Onward! The sailors cry
Carry the lad that's born to be king
Over the sea to Skye

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

"The Skye Boat Song" is a nineteenth century Scottish folk song. It was first played by the Second Doctor in The Web of Fear, and the Spy Master in The Power of the Doctor. By the time the tune made a re-appearance in The Power of the Doctor, it had become known as the theme song from the television series Outlander.
