An Alpha Meson blaster was a weapon loaded with Alpha Meson, a type of energy.
River Song was known to carry one such blaster. Amongst other things, she used it to disintegrate a wooden cabinet (TV: The Pandorica Opens [+]Loading...["The Pandorica Opens (TV story)"]) and destroy a weakened Dalek. (TV: The Big Bang [+]Loading...["The Big Bang (TV story)"])
