The Heretic was the first one-shot story in the Gods and Monsters series, part of the sub-series Sutekh. It was a spin-off of Doctor Who making use of Sutekh from Pyramids of Mars.

- Sutekh is given a body while in Neter-khertet.
- The Kaolathi worship Azag as a god. They conquered every civilisation in their dwarf galaxy.
- The dominions of the Koalathi Empire includes the planets Koal, Lakos, and Mahin.
- Gods of the Lakosians include Ellos the Warriorhound, Yrssal the Bitch-queen of Night, and Melettu the Mother-Father.
- Lakosians traditionally show mercy to their enemies.
- Khyb is an ice-moon that contains a weapon.
- Befsa D'nep is one of the first worlds of the early universe. It has a temple honouring the siblings of Sutekh and Nephthys.
