The Celestial Department Store was a recurring background element of Lost in Space, a teleportation-based institution run by advanced alien beings with curiously Earth-like costumes and appearances — making them easily interpretable as Time Lords — whose wares were sold via transdimensional catalogue-machines which had a bad habit of malfunctioning. The Department Store was first mentioned in the 1966 episode The Android Machine, then appeared as a setting in TVThe Toymaker [+]Loading...["The Toymaker (TV story)"], where the titular character, otherwise known as "O.M.", was introduced. The Department Store would remain a plot point for two further episodes, as would its department manager and O.M.'s immediate superior, Mr Zumdish.
