Through secret radio communications, Sanders, along with Jack Harkness, Andrew Staines, and Ellen Hunt, agreed to deliver to the 456 twelve young orphans as a "gift" at a meeting point in Scotland. In exchange for the children, the unseen aliens gave them a cure for a new strain of an Indonesian influenza that the aliens claimed would mutate and kill twenty-five million people without it.
