A nurse, one of Doctor Constantine's staff at Albion Hospital in London, was among those who were briefly afflicted with the Empty Child Syndrome during the Blitz in 1941, transforming into what Rose Tyler would later describe as "gas masked zombies". (TV: School Reunion) All victims of the plague were cured by nanogenes used by the Ninth Doctor. (TV: The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances)
