Azacca "Az" Dixon, was a member of Giles's P.R.O.B.E. team.

Az had a special sensitivity to "things being wrong" with the world or with Time, (HOMEVID: Daylight Savings [+]Loading...["Daylight Savings (home video)"]) and a psychic ability to feel "vibes" from people and places. For example, he could feel another human being's guilt, often allowing him to see through lies, although he could not actually read other people's minds. (PROSE: Out of the Box [+]Loading...["Out of the Box (short story)"]) After long, difficult meditations, he sometimes managed to read the thoughtwaves of ghosts lingering in a given area. Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

Before joining P.R.O.B.E., Az worked at Hanson Solicitors as an assistant operations manager. (PROSE: Preternatural Days [+]Loading...["Preternatural Days (short story)"])

In November 2019, Az went along with the rest of the team when they went to investigate Bildbriain Dairies, quickly getting a bad feeling from the place. After the owner revealed himself to be an alien parasitic entity called the Greth, it briefly debated whether to leave its current host to absorb Az's body instead, hoping to acquire its psychic powers for itself, but ultimately decided against it, finding Maxie Masters more enticing. As part of her gambit to destroy the Greth, Maxie had to reveal her nature as a Gendar to it, for which reason she got the Greth to painlessly render the rest of the team unconscious, preserving the continued secrecy around her true origins. Between 23 November and 25 November 2020, after P.R.O.B.E. HQ's electronics were fried by a cursed DVD which Giles had been tricked into purchasing on eBay, Giles gathered the whole team save for Maxie and took them to a site in Bedfordshire, to which they had traced the seller. However, when they returned, they discovered that this had been a trick, with the villain sending them on a wild goose chase while he ransacked HQ to steal a Nolvox control node. On the night between 1 February and 2 February 2021, the P.R.O.B.E. team investigated the local cemetery where Sally had woken up after her night with Ichor, and where the latter had later been found dead by hanging. After deep meditation, Az was able to detect a relevant thoughtwave and unravel the supernatural aspect of the mystery, which involved a deal gone awry between Ichor — himself a minor deity of Greek mythology — and an ill-intentioned ghost. In March 2021, when Maxie Masters thought she detected traces of Faction Paradox activities in London, Giles proposed to send Az into the field to check whether there was anything to it, under the assumption that Az would be able to feel any temporal disturbance — although he was sceptical. Ultimately, this was rendered moot as the Faction rewrote Time to prevent themselves from ever having been detected by Maxie; thus, Az did not get to complete this mission. (HOMEVID: Daylight Savings [+]Loading...["Daylight Savings (home video)"])

On 4 April, after Giles walked into HQ to find Maxie unconscious on the floor, he immediately called the rest of the team in. He sent Tasha and Az to search Maxie's office for any clue as to what had happened to her, but they didn't find anything useful. Later, after Maxie became possessed by the Cyberon intelligence, Tasha and the rest of the team chased her to a cavernous area beneath Clapham Junction, where they found a crashed Cyberon pod. After the Cyberon fluid released Maxie so it could inhabit and revive the pilot, the resurrected Cyberon attempted to choke out Tasha and Az, but Giles and Maxie managed to activate the ship's self-destruct, distracting and ultimately destroying the Cyberon while the P.R.O.B.E. members made their escape. (HOMEVID: The Only Cure [+]Loading...["The Only Cure (home video)"])

On 8 May, Agamya's discovery of an old document dating back to his 2010 White House mission confronted Giles with the discrepancy between his recollection of meeting Barack Obama and the signature of the President of the United States on the paper, Felix Mather. With Giles and Agamya remembering Obama while Tasha and Az remember Mather, the team investigated the mystery of the two overlapping Presidencies and eventually tracked down Mather's last known residence, where they found that Mather was still living as a recluse. With Az going in first, he and Giles talked to Mather in turns, discovering that he had been displaced from his rightful spot in history by Faction Paradox in an effort to get back at one of their old enemies, with the side-effect of saddling the deposed Mathe with an aura of wrongness which had made him a social outcast. Although Maxie pledged to try and find a way to cure that condition, which Giles was sceptical of her achieving, P.R.O.B.E. had no choice but to close the case.
