The Dalek Invasion of Earth[[edit] | [edit source]]
Location filming at St Katharine's Docks[1][2] for the first episode "World's End"[1][3] occurred on the second day of filming for the serial on 25 August 1964.[1][3][4] Taking part in the day's filming were all four members of the regular cast, Robert Aldous playing an insurgent, Martyn Huntley and Peter Badger playing Robomen, stunt double Peter Diamond and an unrecorded actor doubling for Bernard Kay as Carl Tyler in a couple of shots where he is seen carrying the injured Susan.[3] St Katharine's Docks was one of two locations at which material was filmed that day, the other being Wood Lane tube station.[2] Of the main cast, William Hartnell and William Russell primarily featured in the parts filmed at St Katharine's Docks while Jacqueline Hill and Carole Ann Ford featured in the scenes shot in and around Wood Lane.[1]
The sequences shot at St Katharine's Docks depicted the Doctor and Ian investigating an abandoned warehouse. Their entry to the warehouse was filmed on location[1][4] as was a scene where Ian stepped out of an upper-storey warehouse door to find nothing on the other side, ending up hanging on some girders. Stunt arranger for the story Peter Diamond doubled for William Russell in this scene.[1][3][4]
Location filming for the serial continued two days later on 27 August with shooting at several sites including Hammersmith Bridge.[1][3]
