Brian Edward Cox (born 3 March 1968[1]) is a physicist and former musician who has presented a number of BBC documentaries.

In 2012, Cox portrayed a fictionalised version of himself in the Doctor Who television episode The Power of Three. On 14 November 2013, he presented the BBC Two documentary The Science of Doctor Who, and played himself in the documentary's associated minisode A Night with the Stars. He also appeared via archive footage in the Class episode Co-Owner of a Lonely Heart.

As a musician, he was a member of the band D:Ream, whose song "Things Can Only Get Better" was played in the A Night with the Stars minisode.
