Major Cliff Branwell (PROSE: Beyond What We See) was a military officer in command of the Henlow Downs missile site. He and Sergeant Peters, with the assistance of UNIT and Zoe, launched the missiles that destroyed the Cybermen's invasion fleet. (TV: The Invasion)

He was transferred to UNIT as one of their two serving majors. He did not initially adjust well to the organisation and took it out on Captain Jimmy Turner, who he wrongly saw as lacking discipline. (PROSE: Designer Death)
