At the convention, Nigel meets an eccentric young woman named Isabella Italy, who calls herself [[Romana]]. She suggests she visit his hotel room, and despite his objections (which he ascribes to concerns over breaking the hotel's rules), she appears there that night. Romana encourages Nigel to use his imagination to describe what he sees in the darkness, and in the ensuing conversation it transpires that Nigel regards [[the Doctor]], specifically his [[Third Doctor|third incarnation]], as his father. | |||

Dalek, I Love You was a radio play broadcast on BBC Radio 7 in 2006. Its script was written by Colin Sharpe. It starred Charlie Hardwick, David Raynor and Fiona Clarke.

24-year-old Nigel English and his mother, Maggie, argue over whether he should go to a Doctor Who convention in London, as he was – and remains – horribly upset by his experience at a previous con in Birmingham. Nigel reassures his mum that he'll be all right.
