On 8 October, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 1965 - "Horse of Destruction" was recorded at Riverside Studios 1. (TCH 6)
- 1966 - Episode four of The Tenth Planet was recorded. Doctor Who's very first regeneration sequence was shot, the beginning of a long-lasting tradition that would keep the show running long after the stars left. This was William Hartnell's final regular day of filming, and Patrick Troughton's first. (TCH 8)
- 1969 - Location filming for Spearhead from Space took place. (REF: Doctor Who The Handbook: The Third Doctor)
- 1979 - Studio filming for The Horns of Nimon took place. (REF: Doctor Who The Handbook: The Fourth Doctor)
- 1981 - Location filming for Black Orchid took place. (REF: Doctor Who The Handbook: The Fifth Doctor)
- 2008 - The Big Finish audio story Wirrn Dawn was recorded at the Moat Studios.
- 2013 - The Big Finish audio story Suburban Hell was recorded at Audio Sorcery.
- 2019 - Big Finish's The Paternoster Gang audio anthology Heritage 3 was recorded.
- 2020 - The fourteenth series of Big Finish's audio series Jago & Litefoot was recorded.
- 2021
- Big Finish's audio anthology The Second Doctor: Volume Three was recorded remotely.
- Big Finish's audio anthology Back to Earth was recorded.
