- The Futurekind were designed by concept artist Peter McKinstry based on Russell T Davies's description. The special 'tyre track' tattoo on their faces was taken from the idea that the Futurekind would hunt humans while riding quad bikes.
- The Supreme Dalek in The Stolen Earth and Journey's End was also known as the Supreme One.
- The Master has a curious interest in childrens television having been seen watching The Clangers and the Teletubbies. In The Sound of Drums he also developed a taste for jelly babies which he was known to have shared with Lucy Saxon.
- Laser is an acronym of Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.
- The Second Doctor was known to have carried a five hundred-year diary, the Seventh Doctor had a nine hundred-year diary.
- Special cloudy contact lenses are used along with prothetics to achieve the effect of ageing.
