The Rage was a Doctor Who Adventures comic strip published in 2011.

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

It's the planet of Senecca B. The self-styled King of the Swamps is a large, angry, green, fanged creature with six arms. He returns to his home dragging Rory Williams and armfuls of much smaller and cuter creatures with big, round eyes. Rory is united with Amy Pond. She and more of the smaller creatures, is tied to a wall with vines in Venghu's larder. While Venghu rants and raves, telling Amy and Rory that they should be frightened by him, they just laugh and goad him on — they aren't afraid because they have the Doctor on their side!

On cue, just as Venghu demands to know who this Doctor is, the Eleventh Doctor appears and fires a beam at the creature from a hand-held contraption. It leaves Venghu's skin hard and frozen like a statue! While the Doctor releases Amy, Rory and the others, something happens to Venghu. The Doctor explains that that these creatures usually get rid of all their negative emotions, but for some reason Venghu couldn't. The anger built up over the years. The Doctor's device sucked up all that rage, leaving Venghu ready to hatch.

As they watch, from Venghu's stomach emerges one of the very creatures he had been hunting for food, leaving behind it the shredded skin of the Venghu. The Venghu was a stage of development all the creatures went through, but this one got stuck and couldn't change — without the Doctors help. Harmony restored, everybody happy, the travellers head back to the TARDIS for probably more deadly danger.
