- This was the first of several strips to be written by Doctor Who's script editor Andrew Cartmel. It is believed that the strips incorporated some of the ideas considered for a 27th season of the series, such as the Doctor owning at least one house on Earth.
- The story was printed in full colour in the graphic novel The Mark of Mandragora.
