Panini Comics is a publishing company who took over the publication of Doctor Who Magazine from Marvel Comics in 1996. Since then it has continued to publish Doctor Who Magazine, Doctor Who Magazine Special Editions and "graphic novel" comic strip collections. Panini is the creator of the card game Doctor Who: Alien Armies. It also published the annual hardcover series Doctor Who Storybook during the David Tennant era.

Following a series of three 50th anniversary bookazines focused on the Doctor, his companions and the Daleks, Panini continued the bookazine range with the launch of a new series entitled The Essential Doctor Who.

Outside of the United Kingdom, Panini are also the German language distributor of Titan Publishing Group's various Doctor Who and Torchwood comics titles, having released German translations of multiple issues and graphic novel compilations. The graphic novel collections of IDW Publishing mini series, Prisoners of Time, have also been translated and released.[1]
