The first of Boekind, the Face of Boe, may have been Jack Harkness. After the Battle of the Game Station, the Bad Wolf entity made him near-immortal. Eventually, he started to age, albeit very slowly. The ultimate outcome of this was possibly the Face, so named because that was one of Jack's nicknames, as he was born on the Boeshane Peninsula. In the year 200,000, the Face gave birth to six children, the Boemina, although in 40 years time even the Boemina would die (DW: The Long Game). The Face later nearly died in the year 5,000,000,023 but managed to survive (DW: New Earth), but later sacrificed himself to save the inhabitants of New New York in the year 5,000,000,053. Rather more suitably, The Face of  Boe may be merely and evolutional form of Captain Jack Harkness, possibly removing most of the "impossible" properites of the Captain. Or, it might even be suggested that the Doctor will venture back to Boe, to strip these properties.

:The fact the Face of Boe died may mean it was not actually Jack, as according to the Doctor he is a fact on the timeline, and may easily have survived until the year 1 trillion. But if the Face of Boe is Jack then it could be that Boe will just resurrect at a later time like Jack did in End of Days. Boekind was a species from the Silver Devastation.

Biology[[edit] | [edit source]]

Boekind were large, humanoid heads with numerous tendrils which terminated in round pod-like structures in place of hair. (TV: The End of the World)

Boekind could communicate telepathically and were able to speak, although they often preferred telepathy. (TV: New Earth, Gridlock)

Life cycle[[edit] | [edit source]]

Based on a newscast by Bad WolfTV, it was possible for a member of Boekind to become pregnant and (TV: The Long Game) their young were called Boe-lets. (PROSE: Time Traveller's Diary)

Technology[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Face of Boe at least lived permanently in a life support tank with added teleportation capabilities. (TV: The End of the World, New Earth, Gridlock)

History[[edit] | [edit source]]

In the year 200,000, which the Ninth Doctor knew to be the time of the Fourth Great and Bountiful Human Empire, the Face supposedly gave birth to the Boemina. (TV: The Long Game) It was during the Fourth Great and Bountiful Human Empire that Boekind became all but extinct, whilst the Face of Boe lived on. (PROSE: The Time Traveller's Almanac)

Indeed, by the time of his hospitalisation and near-death in 5,000,000,023, the Face was the last of his species. (TV: New Earth) He later sacrificed himself to save the inhabitants of New New York in the year 5,000,000,053, rendering Boekind extinct. (TV: Gridlock)
