Michael Smith was a strongman in the Frost fair in the 19th century who usually worked in the Carnival of Curiosities section. He once met the Twelfth Doctor who was investigating another act in the carnival, Silhouette, who was an old friend of Michael's and had told him many secrets. Hoping to help her situation, he decided to give the Doctor information about her predicament, but Silhouette found out and, believing that he had betrayed her, killed him. (PROSE: Silhouette)
