Created from [[the Flesh]] after the Doctor and the Flesh scanned each other, ([[TV]]: ''[[The Rebel Flesh (TV story)|The Rebel Flesh]]'') the Eleventh Doctor's Ganger had a difficult start as it came to terms with all the incarnations of the Time Lord it was replicating, mixing up various catchphrases and other lines from previous Doctors before settling down into the Eleventh Doctor's personality and manner of speech. While the Doctor was delighted with his [[Ganger]], [[Amy Pond|Amy]] wasn't so trusting of him.  To reassure her, the Doctors pointed out that they could be told apart by looking at their shoes, as the original Eleventh Doctor had his burned off in [[acid]] after the flesh had scanned him to create his counterpart. At some undisclosed point in time, the Doctor and his Ganger switched shoes and pretended to be each other, to prove to Amy that the Gangers were people in their own right. At one point, this backfired as Amy accidentally revealed information about the Doctor's death at [[Lake Silencio]] to the real Eleventh Doctor, rather than the intended flesh duplicate. At first, the Ganger had some trouble adapting to the Doctor's DNA due to the residual traces of his previous incarnations in his body. These caused him to briefly act as his [[First Doctor|first]], [[Third Doctor|third]], [[Fourth Doctor|fourth]], and [[Tenth Doctor|tenth]] incarnations, much to his and the original's annoyance. He stabilised into a form and manner virtually identical to the Eleventh Doctor's; the only way to tell them apart was their difference in shoes, as the original Doctor had replaced his after the initial scan. The two Doctors subsequently swapped shoes while their companions were distracted in order to prove that Gangers were no different than the originals.

The Eleventh Doctor's Ganger was practically indistinguishable from the [[Eleventh Doctor]] in just about every sense, including personality.  They were so similar they could even finish each other sentences.  
Posing as his original, Ganger Doctor tried to get Amy to see that Gangers were people too, as he knew that Amy was a Ganger herself.

He and the original Doctor finished each other's sentences and knew each other's mind, as shown by their cooperating on a plan for one to replace another. This version of the Doctor also shared the same beliefs as the original, shown by his self-sacrifice and how he objected to the fighting.
