Private Bill Michaels was a soldier who was fighting in India when his captain, Hertford, was bitten by an animal and changed instantly.
He decided, after being visited by Doctor Heinrich Tulp, to make money off his former captain. He asked Henry Gordon Jago for money to pay for an act a friend of his had. They were going to meet for the audition behind King's Cross Station. Jago did as he was told but brought Professor Litefoot with him. Michaels met them.
