"Mr Wagner" was a Krillitane, a member of the Chosen Few following Brother Lassar who took over the Deffry Vale High School to solve the Skasis Paradigm and become "gods".

In 2007, the Krillitanes led by Lassar began infiltrating Deffry Vale High School. The day after Lassar's arrival as "Finch", Wagner became the school's new mathematics teacher, after his predecessor became sick with flu and never came back.
He differed from the other Krillitanes at the school in that his true Krillitane form was grey. Kenny briefly saw him in his true form before Wagner hastily changed back. Wagner spared Kenny's life, merely telling him to "run along".
