S. Claus was an Andromedan businessman. He was the managing director of the Christmas Corporation, which provided gift-giving services for human parents.

Mr Claus enslaved Silostophans on their own planet, drugging them so they would obey and telling them they were actually on Earth's North Pole, which climate they could not tolerate. Mr Claus captured the Fourth Doctor and Adric when they came to investigate the corporation, but they escaped and started a rebellion.
