Give-a-Show Projectors were a series of children's toys by Kenner that allowed users to create "shows" using light projectors and cut-outs. Many of the Give-a-Show supplements were based on popular series, such as Planet of the Apes and Star Wars. In 1965, a series of Doctor Who based comic slides were released. These were the first Who comics to feature companions from the TV show, namely Barbara Wright and Ian Chesterton. Previously, TV Comic had invented the Doctor's grandchildren and companions, John and Gillian.
