Lord Stanley Straker was an Australian billionaire, nicknamed the "Wizard of Oz".
Straker was the publisher of the Sunday Seeker. He bought a peerage to gain the title of Lord when the British government made this option available to raise money.
In 2006 he bought the SS Bermuda, which was going to be sold for scrap to the United States. He converted it into a cruise ship, rechristened it the SS Elysium, and used it to sponsor "Over the Rainbow", a 3 month long around-the-world pleasure cruise. (PROSE: Iceberg)
