Ben Heyworth was a farmer on Heritage. He lived on a farm with his wife Melanie Bush.

When they wanted to have a child and found that Mel could no longer conceive, they went to Wakeling for help. Instead of creating a child normally, he made a clone of Mel as part of his research. Mel got into a heated argument with Wakeling after discovering the truth, and he accidentally killed her.

Ben never fully recovered, though eventually he decided to tell off-planet authorities what he suspected. The locals, to protect Wakeling in hopes that his research would make the planet popular again, rose up and killed him. (PROSE: Heritage)
