The Evolved was the only known civilisation to resist the Committee of Erebus. Their "gift" was the exchange of consciousnesses. Jack Harkness contacted them while pursuing the Committee in Omega Centauri. (AUDIO: Forgotten Lives) The Committee got a hold of Evolved technology, which God stole and used to switch the bodies of those working for Torchwood. (AUDIO: Another Man's Shoes)
