Fernanda was the mother of Maria Gonzalez and grandmother of Gabby, Blanca and Gino Gonzalez.

She and her husband Juan raised a family of fifteen in Mexico while living in a one-room shack.

After she lost her husband, she often said: "No song should end too soon." Gabby repeated these words during a farewell with the Tenth Doctor.

Fernanda lived in Sunset Park with her daughter's family. On the Day of the Dead when the Cerebravores invaded Earth, they made her see her late husband Juan in torment.

Staying sedated at home, she was spared the main Cerebravore attack the next day. But she did take part in preparing a dinner for the Doctor, which he highly praised. (COMIC: Revolutions of Terror)
