Bribori Zadig was a posthuman giant whose colossal recumbent body was made of both flesh and stone. From head to toe he was sixty miles long. He formed his own District in the City of the Saved. The Journal of Posthuman Studies classed Zadig as a special category of posthuman.

As a District, Zadig's body was home to the Briborians. Only Residents approved by the Cormoran Trust could visit the District. It was one of the few Districts to not include a Tube system.

Some legends in the City reported that Zadig was Old Father Time and that all Residents would become mortal again if he woke up. Others claimed he had been created by an advanced civilisation and had never been awake. He was called the "Great Man-Mountain" after a name given by the Lilliputians to Gulliver in Jonathan Swift's book Gulliver's Travels.

Aditi Gupta lived in the Brobdignagian ranges of Bribori Zadig because they reminded her of the mountains in Kashmir. (PROSE: Sleeping Giants)

When Story was looking for Jim Sheldrake in the City, Claude Lapin suggested he wake up Bribori Zadig and see if he had any mystic insight that would help. (PROSE: Born Among Briars)
