The Wombles were a music group.

In 1974, Flo, a waitress at the Nadir Motorway Service Station, mentioned the Wombles to the Eighth Doctor and Lucie. She had served them once. (AUDIO: Horror of Glam Rock ^[+]Loading...["Horror of Glam Rock (audio story)"])

Bernard Cribbins, who played Wilfred Mott, Tom Campbell in Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 A.D. and Arnold Korns in Horror of Glam Rock, was the narrator of the Wombles' television series and provided the voices of all of the characters.
Bonnie Langford, David Jason and Jon Pertwee worked together in the 1977 film Wombling Free.
