The Cult of the Black Pyramid were a secret society of humans. They were formed circa 3000 BC. (COMIC: Spiral Staircase)
They worshipped the Osiran known as Horus and denounced Sutekh as a false god. The aim of the cult was to find the Eye of Horus and locate the Black Pyramid in order to release their god. After the discovery of the jeweled scarab in 2541, Anwar Nazir, the leader of the Cult of the Black Pyramid, journeyed to the resting place of Horus to awaken the ancient being. However, he discovered that Horus had died ca. 1500 AD after a failure in his sarcophagus's life support system.
