What? | What? Where is this from? I've removed this until someone can show a citation... and even then, it should likely be in the Series 5 section and not the Eleventh Doctor.
Beyond that, it's just ridiculous. | Beyond that, it's just ridiculous. The interior might well change. Wouldn't surprise me. The exterior might change slightly, but it will always be a blue police box. They're smarter than changing that.

It could also be possible the return of the Time Lords in the End of Time are what causes the TARDIS' cosmetic changes, because Nine and Ten relied on makeshift devices to make the console switches etc. BlueBox 02:33, December 31, 2009 (UTC)
The TARDIS interior and exterior both undergo change. I have seen the pictures of filming, and at some point during series 5, the exterior is changed, and the new exterior looks is very similar to how the First Doctor's TARDIS appeared, and has the sticker thing. It is a somewhat lighter sahde of blue, too. The size is the same, however. The new exterior is somewhat dark in colouring, similar to how it is now. The new interior appears to have an upstairs in the main area, and has a space-age sort of look. It wasn't a full-blown big picture, it was a picture in a picture. On filming, they put a picture of the TARDIS interior inside the TARDIS so that, when filming, the interior can be seen from the outside, and it has changed quite a lot from what I saw. At the end of The End of Time we see the TARDISes windows blow up and the interior being wrecked, that is proof enough.
Well it isn't really. In TV: Voyage of the Damned we see that the Titanic went through the TARDIS but the Doctor simply used a TARDIS control to repair the ship. Furthermore, there are promotional shoots of the Eleventh Doctor standing outside the Blue Police Box, the only change is the St. John's Ambulance sticker has been added and the windows have changed slightly, also the paint colour is a lighter shade of blue. ==Jackson Lake== | ==Jackson Lake==
I just watched The Next Doctor and it's clear that Jackson thinks he's the Eleventh Doctor (even if the exact circumstances are muddy), as his "memory flashback" shows the Tenth Doctor "regenerating" into him. I think it's worth noting here. This will be a more minor part of the article once more detail about the true Eleventh Doctor is added over time. 23skidoo 04:42, 1 February 2009 (UTC) | I just watched The Next Doctor and it's clear that Jackson thinks he's the Eleventh Doctor (even if the exact circumstances are muddy), as his "memory flashback" shows the Tenth Doctor "regenerating" into him. I know this is a little late, but Jackson doesn't think he is the 11th Doctor, he just thinks he is 'the' doctor. He barely recognises any of the previous one including 10, when he is show the info-stamp of the doctor. He just states that the 10th is on the info-stamp. He doesn't believe himself to be number 11 just "the doctor", he isn't aware of actually the regeneration process. Lottie01 23:13, January 16, 2010 (UTC) lottie01
Jackson Lake did state that the Cybermen made him "regenerate" in the movie. You are right about the fact that he wasn't familiar with the other incarnations of the Doctor, but he was most certainly aware of the regeneration process, as he directly stated it. MrCatharsis 07:23, April 22, 2010 (UTC)
Actually, at no point did Jackson Lake mention regeneration in the episode, he merely stated that the 10th Doctor was there plus he had very vague memories of the events, but it is unclear whether he knew about regeneration Ooiue 07:43, April 22, 2010 (UTC)
I shall have to go back and watch it again then, because I clearly remember him saying that the Cybermen forced him to regenerate MrCatharsis 09:19, April 22, 2010 (UTC)
Sure he did. "I was holding this device, the night I lost my mind. The night I regenerated. The Cybermen, they made me change. My mind, my face, my whole self. And you were there." Jackson said this in the scene in the house, right after using the info stamp to kill the two cybermen. This is around 13-14 minutes in. So he knows about "regeneration," but may not fully understand what he's saying any more than he understands what the TARDIS is. There was never a mention of him know what iteration of the Doctor he is, though. BrainySpecs 06:29, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

Good call on the lockdown, although its a shame people can't just add stuff properly rather than add rubbish, I can say the first two are rubbish from logic and an interview. One - why would Rose return? she has her doctor and her happy ending, also, along with the second statement stephen moffat said none of the old stuff would return except the daleks, i think that it was on the official site.

Unlike the David Tennant casting, which came so quickly there was no time for media speculation, we had months of UK media reporting rumours - often as "fact" - that certain actors were either in the running to be cast, or even officially cast. Paterson Joseph, of course, is the name most people remember. But I just noticed that Colin Salmon was reported by one publication as a contender, too. Obviously we'd have to restrict this to actual media, as opposed to newsgroups, fan blogs, etc., and should include sources for every name, but I think it would be interesting, and valuable, to add a "Behind the Scenes" listing of the actors reported as being in the running. On Wikipedia I collaborated on an article that kept track of the different actors being considered to play James Bond before Daniel Craig was cast, and it was a very interesting article. == the doctors 11th? ==
is it actuality the 11th regeneration of our favourite time lord or is it the 10th you wonder why i say this because as he was with William hartnel he was in his 1st boy 0 regenerations but he did kind of regenerate in the penultimate episode of series four but does that class as a regeneration or not because it didn't go full cycle
also i would like to know how in this regeneration he virtually destroyed his tardis but Christopher ecleson to David tenant (9th to 10th) it didn't--Ajax752 20:21, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
It's the 10th Regen, 11th Body. Series 4 regen may or may not count, we don't know. And the reason he wrecked the TARDIS was possibilty either a) the radiation b0 the fact it got to "build up" c) the extra emotional state of the DOctor, or d) Other. :It probably was so explosive because he had all that radiation, and it had likely been building up throughout all his final goodbyes...anyway, it's his 10th completed regeneration and eleventh incarnation. --Golden Monkey 20:23, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
:I don't know whether all that radiation is bigger than the Time Vortex. lol. But it's only in the new series that regeneration is even nearly similar from case to case. They made it slightly different in all three regenerations we've seen - the Master's was more red than orange, and now the Tenth is more explosive I guess. I would say geronimo is definatly at least one of the new catchphrases, he states it in the trailer as well as in the end of time and on his character page. I know its your opinion excalibur, but ithe opinion may have been the same with allons-y first was used, although the development was a little later than in his first appearance like Matt Smith's, I think it was episode three or four before it was first used.

==Memory issues== | |||
After his regeneration the Eleventh clearly says "I'm someone...I'm someone...important... I'm crashing!!!". Every new Doctor experiences some degree of disorientation in his earliest minutes of existance, but the Tenth, "born" in very similar circumstances, made a point to describe to Rose Tyler as many memories as he could... maybe we would expect some major lags in his memory in the future? However, I dunno if it's enough relevant to be set as part of his regeneration, at least of a mention, like the mild "insanity" shown by the Fifth in attacking Peri, or the enhanced lag preceding the regeneration of the Seventh into the Eight --217.201.210.160 14:00, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

I've also distinctly heard "something" every time I watched the clip. *Related to the above (and to the article) we shouldn't add too much speculation based on the trailers. We don't know who or what he's shooting at, so to add this sort of speculation to the article would be wrong at this point. 23skidoo 23:33, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
I think that is definately going to be a marked contrast between the 10th and 11th with the 'violence' issue (although i don't think violence is the right word), however we don't know the full context of the situations untill the episodes air, so any speculation may have to wait untill then, but it will be a definate point to note in his personality
==Trailer== | |||
Despite my comment in the above thread, I think we're safe mentioning what's seen in the official BBC trailer as long as it's noted that we don't know the context of the scenes yet. For example, the shot with him firing a gun - we don't know what he's firing at (if anything) and it's been pointed out that could just as easily be a flare gun. And the kiss could be another bit of "DNA transfer" (ala Smith and Jones). 23skidoo 15:36, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

==Sonic Screwdriver Skill==
It was noted in his personality that the Eleventh seems rather unskilled with his new sonic screwdriver, but I beg to differ. Or suggest that I should. Whenever he uses it, he looks at it, and I thought he was merely reading data or interpreting its reactions to it rather than being puzzled by it. Also, in The Beast Below, he not only uses the screwdriver as a torchlight but also to make the star whale's cries audible to human ears. I dare not correct it in case my perception of the Doctor and his upgraded tool is wrong, but could I possibly be right? == Doctor's new accent. ==
I wish to point out that the eleventh Doctor has become posher and more retro, much like his earlier incarnations. Although he seems to have knowledge of 21st century pop culture, he has lost some of his more 'working class' traits of the ninth and tenth Doctors. Whereas the ninth spoke with a brash Northern English Accent and the tenth had an Estuary accent, the eleventh Doctor seems to speak in a posher way, closer to the RP accents of the first 6 Doctors.

There's now a page for this; I can't edit this myself, so please link to it. -whoknows
==Personality== | |||
The article seems to focus a great deal on the more negative aspects of the doctors new personality. While i agree that the eleventh doctor is slighty more angry, brusque with his companions and in some cases violent. he also shows a great deal of care for amy and other individuals at certain points. His fustration is shown by the hard choices he has to make. When he believed he had to lobotomise the star whale he reacted in anger at having to resort to such measures and Amy choosing to try and keep it from him.
also, despite his more alien nature and awkwardness in a seduction scenario. He is confortable, as it were, being comforting and expressing emotion than his previous incarnations. This is shown when he kisses amy's forhead in flesh and stone and holding her hand in Amy's choice. i could be wrong these small physical actions seen somewhat unique to the 11th. His bursts of anger seems to come from a desire to save everyone and his brusque nature is less about ignoring his companions and more about being focused on the job at hand. he shows clear grief at Rory's apparent death and the death of Bob. it is through this emotion that he strives to act.
also it seems almost every instance described where it is claimed that this doctor thinks humans are beneath him could also be interprited as affectionate, for example "oh your like rabbits i'll never get done saving you" could be seen as such since he is an old hero and has been saving humans for most of his live(s). Couldnt the more positive aspects of his new incarnation be added? for the sake of balance? Wrathisacke 04:41, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

==Terrible Pilot== | |||
: Has anyone else noticed the Eleventh Doctor's awful driving skills - only twice has he arrived where he wanted to be (taking Amy home and travelling to Venice) - every other time he has overshot (The Eleventh Hour), undershot (Victory of the Daleks), landed by chance (The Beast Below), or missed entirely (The Hungry Earth). On each of these occasions, however, he has landed just in time to prevent a catastrophy. Is he just a poor pilot, or is the TARDIS directing him to times/places which need him? : It's a trait that was shared by the Second Doctor, who Smith seems to be mirroring in both appearance and mannerisms and who the writers are referencing in plots (The Beast Below/The Macra Terror , The Power of the Daleks/Victory of the Daleks, The Time of Angels, Flesh and Stone/Tomb of the Cybermen ). The Second Doctor couldn't actually control where his TARDIS went at all; at the beginning of The Web of Fear , an exasperated Jamie tells him he can never control it and he arrogantly replies "Oh? We'll see about that!". Idly, Victoria then wonders where they're going to end up this time... DeadWalrus 00:18, June 2, 2010 (UTC)

::It was the Ninth who overshot by a year. The Tenth only had two cases I can remember, going to London instead of New York, and overshooting by a hundred years - again, both times he prevented a catastrophy. ::
Seems to me that the problem is not with the doctor's abilities, but with the TARDIS itself... It seems to behave increasingly erratically throughout series 5. the first overshooting of twelve years can probably be attributed to damage, maybe even the overshooting of 2 years at the end of eleventh hour can be attributed to the "newness" of the TARDIS's redesigned controls. insert IP address here 21:27, June 23, 2010 (UTC)
But on the other hand, when it really matters, for example when River is about to blow herself through an airlock, he ends up in exactly the right time and place. It could be, as he says in TEH, that it's a new TARDIS and he just needs to run her in. I'm with the people that thing the TARDIS is the problem, not the Doctor as such, and that this should not be included on the page, at least as yet. ==Pickyness==
I would like to suggest the Eleventh Doctor's disdain for the idea of having a relationship with a human as an explanation for his general annoyance with River Song. Unlike his predecessor, he doesn't consider the idea of someday having a Wife who he'll first meet at the occasion of her death tragic, but aggravating, as he seems to be a bit snobbish about falling in love with a human woman. Although that part is understandable - a bit like in the final book of Gulliver's travels when the hero is almost set upon by a savage Yahoo. This is for the benefit of editors who are registered members. If you edit without registering, Wikia places ads on random places on the page, which is rather annoying. If this Doctor is also known as the Dream Lord, shouldn,t all the others be as well. The dream lord is not the dark side of the eleventh doctor. he is the dark side of the doctor in general(90.220.223.103 08:01, July 27, 2010 (UTC))
*Technically, they're all the same person, so should have only one page, but we separate them because each has a different face and personality, which would gain them different names from each other. ==Also Known As==
The also known as section has to many names that don't really belong there. Nobody knew the Doctor as the Dream Lord. The Dream Lord was the Doctor's dark side, but nobody everer reffered to the doctor as the dream lord. The Dream Lord is essentially a seperate character. Other names are there that are really unncessary, such as veggie. The Dream Lord called him veggie once or twice to make fun of him but the Doctor was never really known as veggie. Last of the timelords is what the Doctor is, but he is not known as that. Mr. Grumpy Face just described his mood, once. The only names that should really be in that section are names that people actually call the Doctor. The only other Doctor whose AKA section is as long or longer than this one is the tenth, who was around for about 4 years longer than this one has been so far.Icecreamdif 01:35, August 5, 2010 (UTC)
== Episode Descriptions ==
I think the article could do with a lot of cleanup in the "travels description" area. It is unnecessarily detailed and excessively long. We don't really need to know every detail of what happened in an episode - there's the episode's own page for that. Just a few basic notes about any significant or unusual actions the Doctor took, or how the events affected him (if at all), and a couple of namedrops are all that's required.
The Key Events section could also use a serious trim - it's almost as long as the Tenth Doctor's already, and we've only had one season! SpiritMuse 16:32, August 8, 2010 (UTC) |

- "It has been rumored that Alex Kingston will return as River Song and travel with the Eleventh Doctor." By who, exactly? Is there a cited source claiming this? I removed it until there is one. Golden Monkey 23:30, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
- Although there is now media coverage confirming that Kingston will appear in an upcoming episode, this information still doesn't belong in this article, at least not as yet. 23skidoo 17:15, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Doctor 11 has bow legs.

TARDIS changesedit source
"It has been rumoured that this incarnation will change the interior of the TARDIS and he may even fix the chameleon circuit."
What? Where is this from? I've removed this until someone can show a citation... and even then, it should likely be in the Series 5 section and not the Eleventh Doctor.
Beyond that, it's just ridiculous. The interior might well change. Wouldn't surprise me. The exterior might change slightly, but it will always be a blue police box. They're smarter than changing that.
MAY-BE the chameleon circuit gets fixed. For one or two episodes. Beyond that, I just don't see it happening - or being used much. --TheOmnius 17:42, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
- Good edit. Unless the BBC announces it, or it's confirmed by another reliable source like DWM, all such speculation is bogus and shouldn't be here. 23skidoo 04:42, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Delton Menace 03:13, December 31, 2009 (UTC)
DW Magazine.--81.98.0.33 18:13, January 10, 2010 (UTC)
I Have An Image of the new tardis interior, with matt and karen, but i can't post it :( can i email it to someone who has the ability to edit the page?
Jackson Lakeedit source
I just watched The Next Doctor and it's clear that Jackson thinks he's the Eleventh Doctor (even if the exact circumstances are muddy), as his "memory flashback" shows the Tenth Doctor "regenerating" into him. I think it's worth noting here. This will be a more minor part of the article once more detail about the true Eleventh Doctor is added over time. 23skidoo 04:42, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

The following section was added without any citations - it has been removed until then. The general and somewhat nonsensical nature of the rumors, combined with spelling and grammatical errors makes me think these rumors are not that reliable.
The following section was added without any citations. Some are also on the wrong page. Until this is corrected, these should remain off the page. Also.... there are some unique spelling choices.
Roumers
Billie Piper will appear again as the Doctor's main companion.
There will be an episode called The eleven Doctors, and the Ice warriors may return in an episode called Faces in the sand.
The regeneration between the tenth and eleventh Doctors is roumered to be violent and explosive like the previous two.

- Good call removing them. I'm going to ask the webmaster to lock the article down to prevent non-registered users from adding rubbish. Also, any items regarding plotlines should not be here. That stuff is for the rumours section in the Series 5 article. This article should only contain information about the character. 23skidoo 02:23, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- I removed the image of the rumored Ice Warrior because I believe including it here violates the fair use image rules. 23skidoo 17:15, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Daleks??edit source
"Clips from the filming of the series 5 Dalek story reveal that Matt Smith will, unlike Tennant, use his real accent. The clips also feature the Eleventh Doctor referencing Doomsday and Journey's End, ending speculation that he will be a younger version of the First Doctor, not the one following Ten."
There is no source to back this up, so i suggest deleting it at this time. Also, I'm worried that similar spoilers will be posted that havent been widely released. We need to put a cap on this. Taccer 07 21:17, September 1, 2009 (UTC)
I completely agree. What fools thought he was a younger First Doctor when he's been called by everyone the Eleventh Doctor? That's as annoying as everyone thinking Rose, Donna, River Song, Lady Christina, Jenny and just about every female character in new Doctor Who is the flipping Rani! Sorry, rant over. *Ahem*. But yeah, don't include the Dah-Leks (the way Matt Smith (horribly) pronounces it) until the BBC have confirmed them appearing. Similarly, the meeting with Churchill. -- Will101 21:21, September 1, 2009 (UTC)

Rumoured castingsedit source
23skidoo 13:27, December 16, 2009 (UTC)
- It would perhaps be interesting as a sub-section of the behind the scenes section. Though lists can be somewhat lengthy affairs and might overshadow the article, especially one as short as this one. Or would this be a couple of paragraphs of text about not just the casting but the media hype it created and all those sorts of things? --Tangerineduel 13:44, December 16, 2009 (UTC)
the doctors 11th?edit source
is it actuality the 11th regeneration of our favourite time lord or is it the 10th you wonder why i say this because as he was with William hartnel he was in his 1st boy 0 regenerations but he did kind of regenerate in the penultimate episode of series four but does that class as a regeneration or not because it didn't go full cycle also i would like to know how in this regeneration he virtually destroyed his tardis but Christopher ecleson to David tenant (9th to 10th) it didn't--Ajax752 20:21, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
It's the 10th Regen, 11th Body. Series 4 regen may or may not count, we don't know. And the reason he wrecked the TARDIS was possibilty either a) the radiation b0 the fact it got to "build up" c) the extra emotional state of the DOctor, or d) Other. Excalibur-117 20:28, January 1, 2010 (UTC)

- It probably was so explosive because he had all that radiation, and it had likely been building up throughout all his final goodbyes...anyway, it's his 10th completed regeneration and eleventh incarnation. --Golden Monkey 20:23, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
- I don't know whether all that radiation is bigger than the Time Vortex. lol. But it's only in the new series that regeneration is even nearly similar from case to case. They made it slightly different in all three regenerations we've seen - the Master's was more red than orange, and now the Tenth is more explosive I guess. BlueBox 20:26, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
In the Season 5 preview we can see a return of the Lonely Assassins (from "Blink") and Daleks, with one a slightly different colour (it has a white dome). There are more shown on the BBC Doctor Who site (UK only atm) --86.143.193.73 20:48, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
Can't edit this file, but the eleventh Doctor was RELIEVED not to be ginger, not disappointed!
- Actually, he said "I'm still not ginger", as if he was dissapointed. ☆The Solar Dragon (Happy New Year)☆ 21:32, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
The Tenth Doctor actually stated that he wanted to be ginger in A Christmas Invasion so the Eleventh's disdain at not being ginger is a continuation of that. MrCatharsis 21:27, April 22, 2010 (UTC)
Geronimoedit source
He was seen saying it in a different context during the advert for the next series. New catchphrase? BlueBox 21:43, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
He did say it in the trailer and lastly at the end of the episode, so presumably it is a new catchphrase. Should it be added?
- The BBC page even introduces him with "GERONIMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" So yeah, it's his fantastic/allons-y, it seems. --Golden Monkey 23:48, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
It doesn't even work as a proper catchphrase, but meh. Excalibur-117 18:21, January 2, 2010 (UTC)
Pacifismedit source
From watching the advert alone, we know that the Eleventh Doctor doesn't have as much of a deal about using weapons as Ten did - I mean, he punched a man in the face! xD Someone who can want to put it up as speculation? BlueBox 01:36, January 2, 2010 (UTC)
Please use the forums for this sort of discussion --Bigshowbower 13:17, January 2, 2010 (UTC)
- Actually as the post is asking if this should be added to the article, then it does belong here. I'm seeing those Alert boxes used a bit too often these days, even on threads that discuss article content, which is the case here. The answer to BlueBox's question is, of course, no - at present. 23skidoo 02:37, January 14, 2010 (UTC)
Noseedit source
I think the exact line was, "Nose.. nose.. I've had worse." Implying he thinks it's alright but he's not overjoyed with it. :s BlueBox 13:12, January 2, 2010 (UTC)
My question is: is there a reason why this links to the third doctor?
I don't know either but most likely it means that the Third Doctor didn't like his nose for some reason, just like Nine didn't like his ears. Excalibur-117 15:42, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
- See Robot in which the Fourth Doctor called his nose a definite improvement over the Third's. 23skidoo 23:34, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
Memory issuesedit source
Actually, he says "something", not "someone". Jim393 11:24, January 3, 2010 (UTC)
It was the Sixth that strangled Peri, not the Fifth. BlueBox 15:36, January 8, 2010 (UTC)
His Monolouge according to iplayer subtitles is: "Legs. I've still got legs. Good. Arms. Hands. Ooh fingers, lots of fingers. Ears, yes. Eyes, two. Nose. I've had worse. Chin, Blimey. Hair... I'm a girl! No! No... I'm not a girl. And still not ginger! And something else...something important, I'm, I'm, I'm [Loud Explosion] Ha! Crashing! Ha-ha! [He whoops] Whoo-hoo-hoo! Geronimo! Also I've seen this clip so very many times, the bit in bold is the words in discussion. Hope this helps.
I've also distinctly heard "something" every time I watched the clip. This is also sort of a tie-in with the Tenth Doctor's first few moments as he steps out of the TARDIS and embraces Jackie and Mickey, when he too says he's forgotten something important, then wishes them a Merry Christmas (in A Christmas Invasion) MrCatharsis 21:34, April 22, 2010 (UTC)
Violent 11 th doctoredit source
This doctor looks a bit violent in the trailers --The mysterious 18:16, January 2, 2010 (UTC)
I know, the Tenth doctor was talking all about how he would never use a gun to kill someone, and then the trailers show him holding a gun like, 3 times. Mr kmil 04:09, January 10, 2010 (UTC)
Please use the forums to discuss this, as the template says.
- Related to the above (and to the article) we shouldn't add too much speculation based on the trailers.
Traileredit source
Despite my comment in the above thread, I think we're safe mentioning what's seen in the official BBC trailer as long as it's noted that we don't know the context of the scenes yet. For example, the shot with him firing a gun - we don't know what he's firing at (if anything) and it's been pointed out that could just as easily be a flare gun. And the kiss could be another bit of "DNA transfer" (ala Smith and Jones). 23skidoo 15:36, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

Clothing erroredit source
The article says that the 11th is the second Doctor to steal his clothes from a hospital, citing the Eighth as the other. He is, in fact, the third to do so. The Third Doctor stole his clothes from a hospital in Spearhead from Space.
I can't edit this page but hopefully someone who can will correct this.62.25.109.196 12:40, April 8, 2010 (UTC)
Hope this clears things up!
Could somebody add that he uses infrared sunglasses in The Hungry Earth to the section talking about his random objects he pulls out of his jacket?
And PLEASE dont forget the BOW TIE! Still, its better than the scarf...of wait, he was wearing a silk scarf in the end of The Big Bang. And a top hat. Oh, and he stole a fez whitch River Song promptly materialized with a gun. Sigh and braces...
Sonic Screwdriver Skilledit source
It was noted in his personality that the Eleventh seems rather unskilled with his new sonic screwdriver, but I beg to differ. Or suggest that I should. Whenever he uses it, he looks at it, and I thought he was merely reading data or interpreting its reactions to it rather than being puzzled by it. Also, in The Beast Below, he not only uses the screwdriver as a torchlight but also to make the star whale's cries audible to human ears. I dare not correct it in case my perception of the Doctor and his upgraded tool is wrong, but could I possibly be right? 121.220.23.86 08:50, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
I agree with the person above, the Doctor doesn't seem unskilled with his sonic screwdriver at all; I don't think he ever did. 99.103.43.169 02:53, May 9, 2010 (UTC)

Doctor's new accent.edit source
I wish to point out that the eleventh Doctor has become posher and more retro, much like his earlier incarnations. Although he seems to have knowledge of 21st century pop culture, he has lost some of his more 'working class' traits of the ninth and tenth Doctors. Whereas the ninth spoke with a brash Northern English Accent and the tenth had an Estuary accent, the eleventh Doctor seems to speak in a posher way, closer to the RP accents of the first 6 Doctors.

Verb tenses?edit source
Shouldn't the past tense be used throughout this article? It seems like the present tense is used a little too often. Bluebox444 16:14, April 24, 2010 (UTC)
- I have the opposite concern, I am unsure why many of the articles discussing characters of the current series are being described in the past tense. DreamSong 06:47, May 17, 2010 (UTC)
- The manual of style states that all IU articles are meant to be written in the past tense. In the context of the universe itself, there is no "series", simply the Doctor's life that's being pieced together. Besides, to call the Eleventh Doctor the "current" incarnation is absolutely ridiculous from an IU perspective. He's a freakin' Time Traveller! :P We already know that certain people (like River Song) have met his future incarnations, too, so... uh, yeah... current? Lolz. 95.150.84.29 18:26, May 23, 2010 (UTC)

Personalityedit source
Sure. Go ahead and ask them. Don't be frightened to add things like this which you think are relevant. If it's ever too much or pointless or such, we can easily undo it. Mc hammark 15:23, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

Terrible Pilotedit source
- Has anyone else noticed the Eleventh Doctor's awful driving skills - only twice has he arrived where he wanted to be (taking Amy home and travelling to Venice) - every other time he has overshot (The Eleventh Hour), undershot (Victory of the Daleks), landed by chance (The Beast Below), or missed entirely (The Hungry Earth). On each of these occasions, however, he has landed just in time to prevent a catastrophy. Is he just a poor pilot, or is the TARDIS directing him to times/places which need him? Unhari 21:44, May 22, 2010 (UTC)
- It's a trait that was shared by the Second Doctor, who Smith seems to be mirroring in both appearance and mannerisms and who the writers are referencing in plots (The Beast Below/The Macra Terror , The Power of the Daleks/Victory of the Daleks, The Time of Angels, Flesh and Stone/Tomb of the Cybermen ).
The tenth Doctor was also bad at driving the TARDIS. The only "perfect" driver I've seen is River Song. Please remember to sign your posts. Mc hammark 21:42, May 22, 2010 (UTC)
- The Tenth was not as bad though. He overshot by a year. Eleventh overshot by ten then two. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 21:43, May 22, 2010 (UTC)
- It was the Ninth who overshot by a year. The Tenth only had two cases I can remember, going to London instead of New York, and overshooting by a hundred years - again, both times he prevented a catastrophy. I'm not saying this theory is right, or even valid, but It's nice to think the TARDIS is helping. Unhari 21:49, May 22, 2010 (UTC)
Faeryty 12:35, June 24, 2010 (UTC)
Out of universe perspectiveedit source
What's happened to this article? Just a few weeks ago, it was mostly in the past tense, as all in-universe articles should be. Now it's thoroughly drenched in the present tense. Guys, please consult Tardis:Point of view and Tardis:Manual of Style. This should be one of our bestarticles, because it's fast becoming one of the most-linked-to articles. It must be an example of one of the central tenets of the wiki. Please do not add material here in the present tense. CzechOut ☎ | ✍ 11:16, May 23, 2010 (UTC)
Pickynessedit source
I would like to suggest the Eleventh Doctor's disdain for the idea of having a relationship with a human as an explanation for his general annoyance with River Song. Unlike his predecessor, he doesn't consider the idea of someday having a Wife who he'll first meet at the occasion of her death tragic, but aggravating, as he seems to be a bit snobbish about falling in love with a human woman. Although that part is understandable - a bit like in the final book of Gulliver's travels when the hero is almost set upon by a savage Yahoo. DeadWalrus 00:18, June 2, 2010 (UTC)

- I think is section is well over-the-top. It should be limited to actual alias used by him (such as John Smith), or nicknames/titles used by those that known him (such as the Oncoming Storm). Things such as "Imaginary Friend", "Caesar" and "The Rotmister" should be discounted as "one offs", "Imaginary Firend" isnt even a name/alias. Looq 00:12, July 6, 2010 (UTC)
- It is way over the top. I actually think it was better when we simply linked to the section of the Aliases used by the Doctor article for each incarnation. The Thirteenth Doctor 11:24, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

How do we know the 11th Dr threw out the manual. It could have been the 9th or 10th maybe the 8th. The Doctor only said something like "I threw it out" which doesn't necessarily mean the 11th Doctor did it.

- Well, he never mentioned it before this regeneration, but I suppose your theory is plausible. Now, I only watch the TV show (so I am unfamiliar with any canonical non-television Doctor Who media), but the last supernova to which I remember the Doctor being proximate was the one he used to contact Rose Tyler after she was trapped in Pete's World after the events of "Doomsday." A funny juxtopositionedit source
This is for the benefit of editors who are registered members. If you edit without registering, Wikia places ads on random places on the page, which is rather annoying. But it just did a funny one with this article. Under the section "Clothes" there is a big ad (larger than the Eleventh Doctor photo) for diapers! "I'm wearing diapers now - diapers are cool!" 68.146.81.123 13:17, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
Dream Lordedit source
If this Doctor is also known as the Dream Lord, shouldn,t all the others be as well. The dream lord is not the dark side of the eleventh doctor. he is the dark side of the doctor in general(90.220.223.103 08:01, July 27, 2010 (UTC))
- Technically, they're all the same person, so should have only one page, but we separate them because each has a different face and personality, which would gain them different names from each other. The also known as section is for other names which that incarnation has been known as. The Thirteenth Doctor 09:24, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
Also Known Asedit source
Episode Descriptionsedit source
I think the article could do with a lot of cleanup in the "travels description" area. It is unnecessarily detailed and excessively long. We don't really need to know every detail of what happened in an episode - there's the episode's own page for that. Just a few basic notes about any significant or unusual actions the Doctor took, or how the events affected him (if at all), and a couple of namedrops are all that's required.
The Key Events section could also use a serious trim - it's almost as long as the Tenth Doctor's already, and we've only had one season! SpiritMuse 16:32, August 8, 2010 (UTC)
