The Cod War was a conflict over fishing rights between Iceland and the United Kingdom.
Along with the death of Louis Armstrong and the crimes of Victor Magister, the developing Cod War was considered one of the most notable stories of the summer of 1971 by James Stevens. (PROSE: Who Killed Kennedy)

David Bishop, the author of Who Killed Kennedy, has said that he chose to mention the Cod War because "a Cod War with Iceland and the Master being tried by the media both fighting for headlines seemed a delicious contrast to [him]".[1]
