The Cod War was a conflict over fishing rights between Iceland and the United Kingdom.

David Bishop, the author of Who Killed Kennedy, has said that he chose to mention the Cod War because "a Cod War with Iceland and the Master being tried by the media both fighting for headlines seemed a delicious contrast to [him]".[1]
