"Jane Page" was the alias of an assassin for Republican Security Intelligence, a counter-espionage agency (also referred to as "DI5") in an alternate timeline where Great Britain was ruled by a fascist regime.
Under her "Jane Page" pseudonym, she was a computer analyst. Other identities included housewife Sally Carpenter, dressmaker Elizabeth Pinner, student Christine Dennison, secretary Penny Holmes, and painter Stephanie Lister.
She enjoyed philosophy classes at school, and was particularly fond of utilitarianism, the concept of the greatest good for the greatest number of people. To this end she killed people who opposed what she called "Fundamental Humanism".
She assassinated one of her targets in Liechtenstein while they were attending a church service and then she burned the church down to eliminate all witnesses. She was subsequently arrested by the local police but was released when the Security Directorate intervened on her behalf. (PROSE: Prelude Falls the Shadow)
The version of her who would have existed in the Doctor's universe was manifested at Shadowfell in 1994 as a wild card to unbalance things, and was later tortured and blinded by Gabriel. (PROSE: Falls the Shadow)
Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- She stated her pistol was a "Siddley [...] Automatic". This may be an allusion to the real-world Siddeley company, a manufacturer of motor cars and aircraft. She identifies the model as the "Churchill", presumably named in honour of John Churchill, one of Oswald Mosley's favourite historical figures.
