Dr Suleiman Zorn was a human professor of philosophical physics at the University of Buenos Aires who lived during the 26th century. His research centred around the incorrect supposition that the Sol System's sun contained a habitable paradise which he named "Heliotopia".

Zorn founded an organisation called the Helios Society, whose members, including Lady Malina Rigel-Smythe and Professor Constantin Nicely, adhered to his beliefs. The group contracted the Prominence-class luxury starship SS Surya Namaskar to fly them to Heliotopia. Shortly before their arrival at the Sun, the Fourth Doctor and his companions Leela and K9 landed aboard the SS Surya Namaskar. After mingling with the ship's passengers and meeting Zorn, they learned of Zorn's intention and attempted to stop the impending mass suicide. Although the Doctor, his companions and Lady Malina escape, Zorn and most of the others refused to listen and flew into the Sun to their own deaths. (AUDIO: Shadow of the Sun)
