Mothership
The Imperial Dalek mothership. (TV: Remembrance of the Daleks)

A mothership was a central vehicle in a fleet of spacecraft, that would be used as a base and could also deploy scout ships. The Hydrax had three scout ships fronted with bolts of steel. One of these was used by the Fourth Doctor to impale and kill the King Vampire. (TV: State of Decay)

During the Imperial-Renegade Dalek Civil War, the Imperial Daleks were led by a mothership commanded by the Emperor Dalek, Davros. At the climax of the Shoreditch Incident, the mothership was destroyed by the Hand of Omega, though Davros survived using an escape pod. (TV: Remembrance of the Daleks)

The Zalphons deployed scout ships from their mothership in the lead-up to their attempted invasion of Earth. On 12 July, 1979, one of these scout ships accidentally collided with Skylab, and deployed escape pods which landed in rural Western Australia. (PROSE: Bennelong Point)

As part of the Slitheen family's attempt to start World War III on Earth in 2006, Jocrassa Fel-Fotch Passameer-Day Slitheen, disguised as Acting Prime Minister Joseph Green, claimed that the United Kingdom stood directly beneath "the belly" of an alien mothership. (TV: World War Three)
